I have a right smart 'Corky the friendly puppy' book bunting to rehome, all 2.7ish meters of it, hand cut and sewn onto navy bias. To win just go like my
locket facebook page and post a comment on here telling me what your most nostalgia ridden, all time favourite childhood book is and I shall announce a winner on Friday. Go on, chop chop!
I think my fav (at the mo!) is a wee golden book called Cars, all those swish vintage wheels!
Corky strung up amid my books:
Thanks for the give away

Hi ya! My favourite kiddy book of all time is "Mr Gumpy's Outing."I read it as a child and still read it to my kids now. Basically, Mr Gumpy has a boat and one by one the animals ask to have a ride and he lets them as long as they "don't muck about". Which of course they do and then the boat tips and they all go for tea! Splendid! I can't read that book without doing some sort of strange cockney accent either which makes it all the better :)
ReplyDeleteWell mine is more of a series really. The Munch Bunch books, I had the whole set but a few needed replacing and since they are long out of production they are a rare find!!
ReplyDeleteOh I love the vintage book bunting of yours! You have got me thinking about my old favourite books. There is one called "The Pigs Wedding" by Helme Heine that I adored reading and looking at when I visityed my Nana and Grandparents place. My M&D now have it and I read it to my girls when we visit. I just did a search for it and it was published in 1978 so it is 2 years younger than me!!! http://www.betterworldbooks.com/the-pigs--wedding-id-0689714785.aspx
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the Snow Queen by Hans Christen Anderson It was given to me one Xmas by a family friend. The story is great and the illustrations beautiful. Its about a girl who goes on a quest to find her friend lured away by the beautiful Snow Queen, who is cold of heart. Sue
ReplyDeleteFabulous books! :D
ReplyDeleteLove your stuff!
ReplyDelete'My Cat Likes to Hide in Boxes' is the one that comes to mind.

That is stunning. I always remember my mother reading 'Goodnight Moon' and asked her if she could give a copy to my kids. It would be there fave too, my husband loves reading it to them!
